Clara Jiménez Cruz (1989), co-founder ofMaldita.es, is a journalist with a BA in audiovisual communication. After 9 years of professional experience at laSexta, first in the news section and then in different shows, she was part of the team of Ana Pastor’s El Objetivo until 2018. She currently collaborates with Onda Cero, RNE, Telemadrid and TVE.

She is the only Spaniard in the High-level Expert Group on Misinformation appointed by the European Commission and is also the European member in the Advisory Board of the International Fact Checking Network. Together with Julio Montes, she was awarded with the José Manuel Porquet Journalism Award in 2015 for her work in Maldita.es and her projects have been preselected for the European Press Prize in two consecutive editions.
